Ed Schelbass performed the body work on Larry’s Chevy, which includes shaved hood and trunk. The second versions had a peak added to the hood and a set of 1955 Oldsmobile headlights were grated on. The headlights where not frenched, but the shape of the Chevy fenders had to be modified to accept the gorgeous Olds headlight rings. The taillights in the second veriond where 1954 Mercury units set into reworked rear fenders. The 1953 Chevy grille shell that was used on the first version was molded in on the second version and 17 1953 grille teeth where used. The last two at the end where cut down to fit inside the surround. The front bumper was flipped upside down and the two piece Chevy windshield was replaced by a one pice Oldsmobile unit. The side trim is from a 1956 Buick. For the second version Larry also wanted to have a workign scoop set into the rear fenders.

The interior was upholstered by the Pacific Custom Shop.

Larry Watson created this Chevy sedan for himself as transportation as well as for rolling advertisement for his pinstripe and custom painting business.

When larry bought the car he nosed and decked it and added some very wild pinstripes to the hood, trunk and dash. This rolling work of art got his business really going. And soon he had money enough to redo his own Chevy into the first version you can see above. Later, Larry would create two more spectacular versions of his personal ride then named the Grapevine, before he sold it to be able to buy his 1958 T-Bird.
