Carl Cerny 1949 Chevrolet
Carl Cerny 1949 Chevrolet
George and Carl worked together in the shop and it was only natrual that the two would built some personal project cars. Car that would serve as daily transportation and at the same time be a rolling piece of ad for the shop.
They started with a car for Carl, a 1949 Chevy which they chopped 3 inch in the front 4 in the back. The roof flows wonderful on this car the cuts where made absolutely perfect. The slightly angled forward B-pillar and rounded door top corners and shortened drip rail all flow so nicely together. The angle from trunk to top is so sweet. An 1950 Olds one piece windshield was cut to fit the reducedwindshield opening. At the rear a set of 1950 Olds taillights and a pice of the Olds rear fenders where used. The great looking but simple grille was made of a combination of an 1950 Olds grille top bar and 1951 Olds grille center bar. The car was painted metallic Maroon paint.
