Clarence Solomon 1940 Ford
Coachcraft also customized this 1940 Ford.It had a radically reworked body featuring new doors, cowl and rear section all made from sheet metal. The hood came from the 1940 Ford but was sectioned to fit the new longer cowl and reaised front fenders. The front fenders where also 10 extended. A custom V-ed windshield and padded top where made to fit. Lincoln Zephire bumpers, Ford aftermarket fender skirts and chrome gravel shield on the rear fenders to protect them now the running boards where removed. Rippled single bar flippers on wide white wall tires and a mild lowering finish this one up. The car still excits today, although it has been street rodded somewhat. Hopefully the current owner will reconsider bringing this one back to its orginal condition in the future.
Clarence Solomon was the original owner of the Coachcraft Ford but he later sold it to James Wong Howe. The car is know as the Howe Ford.
