George & Tom Bistagne 1938 Ford
George and Tom Bistagne built this '38 Ford convertible sedan in '39-'40. The learned how to do the body work from Roy Hagy who ran a custom shop on Vermont at Second Street.
The car was chopped with a Carson top using '34 cabriolet rear door windows. California Metal shaping created the running board covers (after the running boards where removed) and the chrome plated rock guards for the rear fenders. '37 DeSoto bumpers where used front and rear and the hood sides where solid and top section of the grille filled in. They painted the car ruby maroon. At the rear the license plate was recessed.
