Pete Brock 1946 Ford
Pete Brock 1946 Ford
Pete Brock had his dream car built at Art & Jerry’s Olive Hill Garage.
The channeled the body over the frame and raised the front and rear fenders so that the bottom of the fenders would now sit level with the bottom of the body. The running-boards where removed. the fit of the rear fenders to the body is extremely nice. And done in a similar way as Jimmy Summers did on his own 1940 mercury convertible.
The hood was sectioned to fit the raised front fenders and the whole body was dechromed.
The bumpers front and rear where replaced with 46-47 Oldsmobile units which seam to fit the car just perfectly, giving just a little more body compared to the slimmer stock Ford units. The taillights where set into the license plate guard
The Windshield was slightly chopped and a new padded top was created. At first painted bright red with a white top, wide white walls and smooth moon hubcaps this was a very wild custom car.
Later the car was redone and recieved a new grille opening and later a wild and unique (for the time) paint-job of pure white with dark blue racing stipes running from the bumper less front to the back. The stripe was even continued on the Tennau cover.
