Alan Young - a young British actor in Hollywood - is the owner of the Art Lellis custom when this photo was taken in the early 1950’s. Art had sold his car after the car was featured in Hot Rod magazine and since then the car had passed hands several times.
As can be seen in this photo the car had its running boards removed and the boddy channeled over the frame. The front fenders where raised and the hood was sectioned to fit the new higher location of the front fenders. Both front and rear fenders where extended downwards. The grille was covered with an aftermarket grille shell covering part of the original grille. 1937 DeSoto bumpers where used front and rear. Not visable in this photo is the unique Panarama rer windowed padded top made by Runyan. The car was panted first in a metallic green and was later painted a metallic bronze.
In photo below shows small article about the Art & Jerry custom Fords in the first issue of Hot Rod magazine. Even though the article was small it sure brought the two crafts man a lot of business.
